The Joomla templates sold by Christian Templates Online are sold as independent extensions to the Joomla CMS infrastructure. While these templates have been tested to ensure as much consistency as possible, it should be noted that because these church website templates interact with the Joomla CMS infrastructure in a dynamic, changing environment, Christian Templates Online can take no responsibility for the consistency of the design scheme when the purchaser of the template makes various changes to the internal set-up of their particular Joomla site.
However, to make your Joomla website launch as seamless as possible, we do provide all of the module information settings used in our various Joomla templates. Also, if we include extensions in our basic template design, we make sure to provide links to those extensions with your template instructions. If you want the functionality you see on our templates, you will need to download these extensions to make them active on your website. An example of some of the extensions we might employ would be: an events calendar, a drop-down menu, etc. However, for simplicity’s sake, we usually aim to work with the default Joomla settings so as to make the transition from the default Joomla template, to one of our custom Joomla templates, as straightforward as possible.
If you are unfamiliar with Joomla we would recommend you download Joomla and install the default template. Familiarize yourself with how the infrastructure works before jumping in full-force. While Joomla offers great flexibility and the possibility of maintaining a website without the need of prerequisite HTML knowledge (as would be the case with a standard template), Joomla is still a fairly complex infrastructure that takes some time to become familiar with.
Christian Templates Online offers these Joomla templates as individual items. We do not take, nor can we take, responsibility for the inner workings of the Joomla infrastructure itself. In addition, Christian Templates Online will not be able to offer follow-up technical support regarding the inner workings of Joomla. Again, we would recommend you ensure you understand how Joomla works before launching your own Joomla website using one of our unique Joomla templates.
However, the great thing with Joomla is that it was developed by, and is supported by, a great number of people from within the Open Source community. That being said, there are numerous, excellent online resources to help get your questions about Joomla answered. We would recommend some of the following resources to both introduce you to, and support you in your Joomla church website development.
Joomla Resources: http://www.joomla.org, http://forum.joomla.org
Please Note: We can only guarantee the template version you purchased works, and renders properly, within the Joomla database it’s developed for. In other words, if you purchase a 1.5 Joomla template then you can expect it to be fully compatible with any 1.5x version. This includes: 1.5, 1.5.1, 1.5.2, 1.5.3, 1.5.4, 1.5.5, 1.5.6, 1.5.7, 1.5.8, 1.5.9, and 1.5.10. If there is an update to a version such as 1.6, 1.7, etc, you should not expect a 1.5, or 1x template, to necessarily work in these later database versions. Although there is legacy mode and template override functions available for reverse compatibility, we still cannot guarantee an older template will work in future Joomla versions.
As a third party vendor Christian Templates Online/Joomla Template Shop is responsible only for the actual template you purchase from us to assign to your Joomla website. All questions to do with the functioning of the Joomla database, version compatibility, security issues, and the like, should be directed to the Joomla security team and the official Joomla forums. We will NOT be able to help customers troubleshoot database-related issues because we are not responsible, nor have access to, the infrastructure enabling that functionality. Again, those kinds of questions should be posed within the official Joomla forums.
