POST JOOMLA TEMPLATE HELPFUL TIP
- Q: How do I get my modified logo, or header logo, to appear in my template?
A: Your logo image is part of your actual template, and all images related to that template need to be uploaded/FTP to your server, to the appropriate location. Please take note that this is not the same as your Joomla admin or “Media Manager” section. Your logo needs to be uploaded to the theme template within your server. For instance, if you are using “theme_church016” template, then your server location to upload your image to will be templates > theme_church016 > images. Also, it is important that you save your logo image and extension so that it matches the name of the original file.
Your server/FTP info may not look exactly like our screen shot here but this should help give an idea where the upload file is located.
FTP/SERVER JOOMLA SCREEN SHOT
- Q: How do I change or remove the Welcome section on my home page title?
A: Go into joomla admin Menus > Main Menu > Home. On the right hand side, where you see Parameters, select the "Parameters - System" drop down, and click the "No" radio button next to "Show Page Title", or simply change the page title to what you want it to read.
- Q: My top menu doesn’t seem to be working, how do I fix this?
A: If you do not install the “sample data” during your Joomla install then more than likely you are missing the “Top Menu” from both your “Module Manager” and “Menus” sections. It’s important that, when installing these items manually, you give them the appropriate name.
- First, let’s create our top menu by going to our Menus section and clicking the “New” button, located in the top right corner. Now we will give our new menu a name. It’s important that it reads exactly as this screen shot. The unique name needs to read “topmenu”.

- Lastly, you will install your “Top Menu” module by going to your “Module Manager” and clicking the “New” button, located in the top right corner. Once the new window has opened, select the “Menu” radio button and click “Next” at the top. Make sure that you select the “topmenu” selection from the “Menu Name” section. Below is a screen shot of how this module should be set up. For further instruction on how to create your links so they appear in the drop, see your Sources > screen shots > creating-sub-links.jpg image.
